A DESTINATION
Building, restoring, or refining a classic car is a commitment and one that deserves experience, care, and respect for the details that make each vehicle unique. At The Preserve, we approach every project with that mindset. Our goal is to create cars that perform as beautifully as they look, built to drive and enjoy, not just to display.
We specialize in early American cars, preserving the history and craftsmanship that define them while integrating the reliability and comfort that make them practical today. Whether we’re bringing a barn find back to life or completing a full custom build, every decision is guided by a clear standard: authenticity, function, and longevity.
Working with us means you’ll have a partner through the process; one who listens, communicates clearly, and keeps the experience enjoyable from start to finish. From the first conversation to the first drive, we make sure the journey is as rewarding as the result.

THE shop
The Preserve was founded from a genuine love of vintage automobiles and the craft behind them. Jeff Peterson started The Preserve in 2021 in his home 2 car garage where historical significance mattered more than the make or model of a car.
Jeff, who has been immersed in the industry since the age of 19, started his journey sweeping floors and working for free at a cornerstone restoration shop. Over the years, he honed his skills, never losing sight of the value of doing things right. To bring The Preserve to life, Jeff sold all of his belongings, including his cherished 1932 roadster, that he spent years collecting parts for, to establish a professional shop and hire a team. Today, the business is a true partnership between Jeff and his wife, Maggie. Jeff leads operations in the shop, while Maggie oversees the books and marketing. Together, they manage the shop with a shared commitment to exceed all clients expectations.
Today, Jeff still spends most of his days in the shop, hands-on in metal shaping, chopping tops, and assembly. He holds himself and his crew to a high standard and pairs each technician with projects that suit their individual skills. He works closely with the team to strengthen their craft and push every build a little further than the one before.
What started as a one-person operation focused on simple repairs has grown into a full-service restoration and fabrication shop. The team now manages a range of projects from period-correct restorations to full custom builds, each one built with care, purpose, and respect for the car’s story. Clients trust The Preserve for its consistency, craftsmanship, and dedication to quality.
